Three Dudjom Patriarchs Thangka – Honoring the Masters of the Dudjom Tersar Lineage

This sacred Three Dudjom Patriarchs Thangka honors the three great masters whose lives and enlightened activities established, preserved, and transmitted the Dudjom Tersar lineage to the modern world.

At the top is Dudjom Lingpa (1835–1904), the great tertön and realized master who revealed the precious Dudjom Tersar cycle of teachings. Through his enlightened vision and realization, profound treasure teachings emerged for the benefit of beings in this degenerate age.

At the center is Dudjom Jigdral Yeshe Dorje Rinpoche (1904–1987), universally revered as Dudjom Rinpoche. As the supreme lineage holder of the Nyingma tradition, he collected, preserved, and transmitted the complete Dudjom Tersar teachings, ensuring that their blessings and wisdom would continue to benefit future generations.

Completing the lineage is Dudjom Sangye Pema Shepa Rinpoche (1990–2022), the third Dudjom incarnation. Through his life, teachings, and compassionate activities, he carried forward the Dudjom lineage and inspired practitioners throughout the world. Although he entered parinirvana in 2022, his example, blessings, and devotion to the Dharma continue to inspire those who follow the Dudjom Tersar path.

For practitioners of Dudjom Tersar, this thangka is far more than a sacred image. It is a reminder of the kindness of the lineage masters, the power of Guru Yoga, and the unbroken transmission of blessings that continues through faith, devotion, and practice.
